me and my childhood best friend have basically zero distance, so a lot of the time we'd basically be on top of each other even if we're on our phones or something - at one point his then-gf said to me: "if you two ever come out as bi or pan, just say the word and i'll back off so you two can be together."

i now get why she said that.
