In ch 40/41 the author inserts an evil character out of thin air and suddenly presents an MC whose behavior borders on cruel and is completely inconsistent with his established character development. It seems like such a cheap ploy to create unnecessary drama, and it ruins the illusion for me that these characters are real. I have no interest in reading even a single chapter more.
