7/10. Not enough murder. Cute art. Some of these comments though, like holy crap you guys are gigantic bitches lol.
registered just to complain about this. anime/manga forum users and reviewers are so strange
anyway great story. like most manga endings i'm too stupid to understand. rinko sees the ghost of her past in the blind girl's face. but if head teach really did survive and really made that murderer comment, what, she thinks rinko killed tooru or let him die? does this all but confirm tooru actually saved teach by throwing her into a river? because he knew he could never live the normal life she needs to redeem herself?
either way i really appreciate tooru's arc. rinko saw something in him that she didn't in eyebrow dude. she and all the other children had a shit lot, but they knew the difference between right and wrong, and that growing up meant moving past trauma not acting out revenge fantasies. at every step, eyebrow could've repented. tooru was an actual storybook monster who could never assimilate. his abnormality was not a coping mechanism. it was just him. yet he more than anyone wanted to kill and bury it for good. simply so that the humans around him, those aliens, would no longer be troubled. that selflessness earned probably his one and only show of compassion towards his true self in eighteen long years of numb, grey, disconnected existence. ambivalent stories like this are my favorite. thanks
