Guys, yuri lover here. I was running out of yuri mangas to read recently and got into Chinese yuri manhuas. Gotta say there are a lot of good titles out there, too bad there aren't as translated as the Japanese ones. But that's not what I wanted to discuss here, let's get to the topic.

It would appear that the Chinese audience really loves themselves yuri works with a main couple and a side couple somewhat related to the first. Me personally, I generally detest it. Looking back on the Chinese yuri I have read so far, the only ones I dropped were the ones with two couples. The thing about these manhuas is that they introduce a secondary couple very early on the story, when the main couple is still not consolidated yet. From there, the secondary either steals a lot of spotlight from the main couple, or develops in a way that I find uninteresting or distasteful.

I don't know about you guys, but I prefer a manga to focus on what it is supposedly to deliver, whatever that might be, as it usually appears in the cover art and title. I do not mind getting a little bonus on the side if the main story is good, but I absolutely hate it when the author bundles the main couple with another secondary couple and shoves it down your throat if you want to continue reading the manhua. Whenever this happens, I just can't really take that shit and end up dropping the manhua altogether. The best example for this shit is Bai Lijin Among Mortals.

What do you guys think about this? Of course this is my personal opinion and reaction, but I would love to hear other people's opinions.
