So, the censoring makes it seems like the dicks are to be cut off, but it's actually their heads ? Then what is the point of cutting their limbs ? They're dead anyway.

They're getting their heads cut off, not their dicks. It was censored so we all just assumed it was "dicks" and not "heads". And the whole point of this is to set a public example, so in the middle ages when someone is executed it's not unheard of for them to do other stuff with the body to set an example. I dunno this seems p realistic.
