She's a precog and has been dodging my boi for who knows how long because she didn't trust herself not to have his children almost immediately... Doesn't remember his first name.
@Kaarme If you're talking about the whole name thing, then it's a difference of culture, yeah. First names are normally reserved for family and very close friends or lovers.
If I misunderstood then sorry, but yeah. Not even teachers will call students by first name typically, sticking to the last name. Using the first name of a person is either a sign of closeness or a sign that you're just an oblivious idiot who can't gauge personal space…
@OmniscientOnion I feel like it was just for the joke's sake here. Japan is different, yes, and where I'm from, everybody uses classmates' first names to address them. Following similar logic, I should have been unaware of their last names, to an extent. I wasn't. There are all kinds of lists/publications around in schools, people are addressed using their full names in certain situations, etc. Plus when you are interested in someone, you will automatically remember much more than if they were just a part of the mob in your eyes.
Tbh, after 3 weeks of army training and yelling our names one at a time everry morning, I still knew no ones first name. All last names, sure. But first? Nope. We addressed each other with last names on daily basis since last names are more unique in that situation than first names so they stuck.
