Leona put up a good fight as I hoped, and she fights with good techniques, but maybe a little too by-the-book at first, whereas Ken used brute force to create out-of-the-box situations that defy Leona's expectations. I mean, the madlad used his frozen solid arm as a melee weapon(!) and broke her sword with it... but it's also good Leona could counter him with an arm lock after he broke her sword; having a backup technique for such a contingency is smart and pretty telling, she's definitely a veteran fighter.

I mean...the arm lock wouldn't work anyway. People tend to not understand just how extreme the difference is between men and women. I've seen lanky guys in such positions from women and they just either lift the woman off or get up and simply slam her down. That's why you get things like half a dozen female police officers trying to take down one thug and he just casually brushes them off and ignores them. Against someone she knows is superhuman? She's an idiot.

I think as Arc said when he was about to spar with Usato, this is to gauge his current level and fighting style. She's learning how he fights and where he's wasting energy, and she's presumably going to give him advice on how to improve afterwards.
