Man, has that route ever happened before?
If you're asking about a hentai artist making normal manga and having anime then it's not uncommon. Hentai are the best entry for mangaka, it's easy to get published, it make a decent amount of money and it let mangaka polish their skill if they want to make things that are not porn.
Also, most of the best mangaka started by drawing hentai.

The best exemple is "Oh! Great!", he started by making hentai, got a few serialized manga and a few anime, he also worked as a mangaka for big series like Monogatari.

If you're asking about hentai becoming non hentai and getting published then it happen from time to time, it's more common these last few year.

I am wondering if there's another anime based on what you mentioned.

Hentai work --> tone down version of said work getting serialized --> that tone down version getting an anime

it's still better than
Yes, and being punched in the face is still better than getting shot. But it's still being punched in the face, you genius!

Always the same braindead, short-sighted, upside-down argument. "It's just an SL. It's just a fanfiction. It's just fanart." What does it being an SL have to do with anything?? Do you really mean to say that just because it's an SL that it is prohibitively exempt from any and all standards, question, or criticism? News flash: Quality is a thing regardless of medium and, shovelware aside, regardless of it coming from a passion project (which this particular release seems to be) or a licensing agreement. Stuff isn't done well just magically because it's commercial. Stuff is commercial because it's done well enough that people found it could be offered for profit. Wake the fuck up and smell the maple-nut crunch: this is how real life works. And how an actual argument doesn't work. You know, by slapping a label on it and then prosecuting it (or indemnifying it, as it were) for the label you just slapped on it.

What's more, this works' quality as such wasn't even my point. What I did was ponder how one would have to go practically out of one's way to produce the demonstrated difference in quality compared with very readily available other works (SL or otherwise).

Yes, I can see myself that it's not the crème de la crème. Yes, it's better than nothing. Thanks, Captain Obvious. So, what are you trying to tell me here besides irrelevant tangents that weren't even questioned in the first place?

Look man I totally understand your feelings. (every single time I read a garbage translation, with missing fullstops, "keikaku means plan"-type shit and whatnot, I just want to throw some bleach onto my screen)

Even though the guy did a half-assed job, very poor typesetting that anyone with basic mspaint knowledge could have done better. He tried something at least, he wanted to be useful for the community and help others read the manga. Or maybe he just wanted to piss off @baconcat and generate some drama in the comment section!!! haha just kidding.

You are yearning for quality as you said. We all do, but some have different standards than others. I know you'll be mad at me for that, but I'm going to pull the classic argument: scanlators do their thing for free. Because they're not getting paid, because they don't receive a specifications list in their non-existent work contract, they're not forced to follow any kind of rules. Their work serve for a single purpose: allowing non-japanese-speaking readers to read mangas. Whether the text is centered or aligned to the left is ultimately irrelevant.

Of course some TL work can be so bad it's just unreadable (I'd rather starve than eat moldy absetos-sprinkled bread tbh). But, if you may push this specific case aside, consider the following. Which is better between: a bland scanlation that barely gets the job done (i.e this very chapter); or, no translation whatsoever? Personally, I prefer the first option.

Now I know some folks who produce high quality scanlations very quickly if you'd like, except they charge 3$ a page and can only be found on sketchy websites... I'm sure they could quench your dire quality needs nonetheless.
