It isn't easy, but it's not impossible. The computer must have some kind of spatial awareness if it knew "where" we found the Wow Signal coming from. You just have to define it in terms of celestial bodies relative to each other.

You'd just have to know these things off-hand while hanging from your arms over a bottomless pit while watching a schoolgirl get molested by tentacles.
