Tanuki are racoon dogs, not racoons. They're two unrelated animals despite the name and a tiny bit of similarity in terms of facial markings.
Also, 狸 is the kanji for racoon dog; the Japanese name for racoon is araiguma (洗熊/浣熊), completely different from tanuki.

I'm one of those who waited during your hiatus. As for my reason (or rather major reason), you devoted years to keep translating this series and I believe that service deserves to be repaid with gratitude. The only gratitude I can & could at the time repay it with is by sticking to your translation. There's also the matter of quality, though the previous two chapters had errors and inconsistencies, they are outliers and your translation remains by and far the better quality one. From the typesetting to the translation itself, as well as keeping the chapters as whole chapters and not the stupid partial .'s. I also don't take kindly to violating the agreed upon 3 month no sniping 'rule', especially when the snipe was of worse quality.

Thank you again Saeba and I'm glad you're not giving up in frustration or anger!
