It's an isekai into otome-game story, expectations for anything outside the core romance/drama should start at several feet under and only raise if the story actually care to put any attention to it.
While I understand the desire to only be pleasantly surprised (if at all), I can't function like this. It seems fundamentally unfair of me not to give the benefit of the doubt until I see actual examples of crap writing from an author. I don't expect academic levels of research and work put into worldbuilding, but I do assume it's good enough not to make me go "hold on, that shouldn't ever happen...", isekai or not. I mean, it's not like there aren't examples of pretty sensible writing in those. The series this one rips of a lot of stuff, Mobuseka was pretty well put together. It had a feudal society with magitech, but it did actually act like a believable one, given the circumstances and the "nonsense" parts (at least they were considered thus by the MC) actually had in-world reasons behind them.

A medieval one, mostly wood-based.
Is that right? Pretty sure plenty of cities apply fire prevention in construction, materials, and location. Particularly with separating the military facilities from other sources of fire.

Mud and stone are fine building material, it only depends on the availability and climate. It's only slums that are guaranteed too spread through large portions of a city, that's why they get kicked out the city walls.

Allen's bombing rig is not of sufficient intensity and sheer mass to cause a firestorm, and I don't think the city is big enough for that anyway.

Most mediaval housing was made out of timber, straw and other similarily flammable materials. Stone and the like was reserved either for the manors of nobility and the rich, or military structures. That's the irony of the situation: the actual defenders are far less vulnerable to such an attack than everyone else.

I don't remember seeing how his firebombs actually work (unlike the ice ones) so I can't say for certain what kind of power they have. However, if they were to be ineffective, why would the attacking side insist so much on using them? Keep in mind that as recent as WW2 most cities were built in a way that firebombing them was an integral part of leveling them and it has been extensively done to ones like Tokyo or Warsaw.

There's a large amount of buildings in the chapter that don't look like wood, at the very least it's some plaster. I see a ton of shingles, which should be ceramic, too.

If you burned those from the bottom up, the buildings could still collapse, but from on top? Allen doesn't have enough explosive force to punch through. Did he design bombs that spread fire horizontally? That could maximize civilian casualties I suppose

Other than the fortifications and left side structure, which looks like the feudal lord's fortress manor, I would say pretty much all the buildings should be timber, though the shot is ambiguous.

Shingles in that time period were almost exclusively wooden, also only used by the rich.

Plaster existed, but was decorative and made from materials that easily melt in high temperatures. Even worse, it had a lot of flammable additives, like hair.

Real world firebombs use fuels like napalm, which not only spreads far and wide horizontally, but also sticks to targets, pretty much ensuring the spread of fire in all directions. I would imagine Allen uses some similar mechanism, otherwise it would be a challange to light up anything other than thatch roof, making his bombs all but pointless.

I forgot to mention, even most stone structures had wooden interiors and people decorated them a lot with carpets, linen and other flammables. Houses were also densly packed together. In general a medieval town was always a highly combustible arsonist bait.

Allen bloodily rescues Anna, but she's comatose cuz of the sword. Allen gets the help of the lolicon fairy to awaken her. Allen goes to the King to present the Est Prince's head and request the right to marry Anna, and the King goes back on his word, causing a fight to break out where Allen and Anna's Father declare independence from the Kingdom. The fake otome protagonist bitch gets empowered with brainwashing powers as a Witch (calling herself Saint). Allen ends up getting hurt, and Anna becomes the real saint to heal him. Allen and Anna storm the Kingdom's capitol, and cleanse it of the bitch's branwashing, defeating and selling her off to slavery, while a younger, relatively good Prince gets installed as King. It ends with Allen marrying Anna creating a branch house of her father's new Kingdom Royal Family.
One small mistake: Allen wasn't the one to deliver the heads; it was the Duke, Ana's father. He (Ana's father) was summoned by the king. Allen and the Duke suspected it was a trap, so Allen followed using 【Concealment】. The Duke was going to negotiate Allen's reward since the king only knew of one of Allen's accomplishments. The king was also claiming that Allen was an adventurer under the protection of the royal family and dispatched on his order, when Allen was actually under the Duke of Rammslett's protection, since the king transferred Allen's protection to the Duke when he was trying to undercompensate Allen's reward, believing Allen's only accomplishment was helping to overtake the region he is currently fighting in. That's when he presented the heads of Est's prince and their magic commander.

She was comatose when it happened, all he did was sneak in, killed the Imperial Prince, Shot Sir Baldy when he made CREEPY Remarks about her, and rescued her as he was being chased as the gunshots did attract attention to his location as he snuck in! He took both their heads at the same time, made it BACK to the Plane with Ana in tow and made it back!
She wasn't 100% comatose when Allen found her just mind broken
From Ch 69 of the WN:
“Oh, it’s coming along nicely, isn’t it? Let’s give it a little stimulation.”
After saying that, they unlocked the iron door and opened then went inside, I also followed them inside.
Then, beyond that, illuminated by the lamps of the two, there was a strange figure of Anna.
What the hell did they do to her?
Visit wuxiaworld.eu for extra chapters.
She is dressed in a lyrical costume, but her face is expressionless. Her eyes are blank, and her face is a mess of tears and snot. Also, the sloppy drool is dripping, and the smell of filth is drifting.
“Oh, she must have resisted a lot. If this happens, she won’t be able to use the magic she originally had, so I’ll have to re-educate her.”
“What? Tsk. Can’t you undo that?”
“It’s impossible. It’s too late now. But it’ll only delay the actual launch for a few years.”
He describes Anna as if she were a domestic animal, no machine.
Anna turned her head toward us, but it was not hard to imagine that she did not see anything in her eyes.
“A, Ah”
Anna makes a small noise with an expression that does not make you feel intellect.
There was nothing in there that reminded her of Anna.
That Anna, who was sleeping peacefully in my arms, was as beautiful as an angel.
That Anna, who had a cute and teasing voice.
That Anna, who was surprised to fly for the first time, and was also excited like a child.
That Anna, who accepted my proposal, and was pleased to cry.
That Anna, who was nervous, tense and afraid that she would drop Miryl-chan in her unfamiliar arms.
That Anna, who was so embarrassed that her ears turned red when I carried her like a princess.
That Anna, who was jealous of me because she suspected the relationship between me and Sheryl Laura-san.
The same Anna, who used to say that I was a cross between a genius and something else and got dismayed.
That Anna, who was so happy to hear that her exam grades had caught up with mine.
That Anna, who was trying so hard to make something good.
Anna, who was worried and angry with me for being her proxy when she needed a proxy for the duel.
And when I met her again, that Anna, who turned bright red and was angry.
Even Anna, who had been struggling to endure unreasonable things for the sake of her noble duty with a frozen expression.
All of these things are important to me.
But Anna, who was always so fascinating, was nowhere to be found.
Maybe it’s too late, as the man says.
But.
Still,
……Even so!
I! No matter what! Want to save Anna!

from ch70:
“Now that it’s broken, there’s nothing I can do about it, so I’ll just paint it over with the power of the magic sword.”
The man who said this chanted a small incantation of some kind, and something black gushed out from the magic sword in Anna’s grip and clung to her.
Thereupon Anna slowly reached for me. Then.
──── A……lle…n
I felt as if Anna had said so.
It wasn’t that Anna actually said that out loud.
Anna’s eyes were unfocused, and it was hard to believe that she was seeing anything with them.
But sure enough, Anna reached out her hand towards me, even though I was supposed to be invisible with my 【Concealment】 skills.
It’s like knowing I’m there.
And as if she was saying that she wanted my help.
I really wanted to know how to undo it, but I couldn’t take it anymore!
I can’t let them do anything to Anna anymore!
I fired two rounds of Kalashi, each, into the Crown Prince and the other man I thought was the mastermind.

Some stuffs I noticed while re-reading earlier chapters, which I don't know if it'll change your mind or anything but I figured it might be worth mentioning.

1. There was actually rape/pillaging mentioned, but it's by Est which is the invading force.

And that girl who got dragged out is actually presumed to be dead by the kingdom side after Est attacked the village.

2. This fort was the kingdom's half a century ago, don't know if a force reclaiming their old land is expected to pillage it/rape the current citizens by your standard.

If anything, this is problematic, since you know, she was obviously not dead at the time of Allen's attack. He said "either fled or killed", so I guess one could assume she managed to run away, rather than be blasted along with the commander. Then again, he never did specify by whom they were killed...

It's not about my standards, man. It's simply how things worked in the past. It might be different if the settlement was being taken back shortly after falling (though even then, keeping that kind of discipline within a medieval army was a tall order), but after half a century, most of the people there were born under the empire's rule and would both see themselves as imperial and be seen as the enemy.

8 pages... 6 and a half of them purely about moral standings on war and how it affects civilians through history including recent real Life examples, the discussion was smart and polite, an otherwise ver interesting read if I wasn't here for something else while this thread was completely hijacked about it.

instead of fighting the invading country that got no beef with him why not fight the country that betray you? I don’t really understand, keep bombing the royal palace and see if ppl still side with the prince, or a more peaceful way is just kill the king he’s built for assassination anyway and beat the prince up real good and ask for a lead, then go there and bomb their place, besides they mentioned that the duke can take the throne so there’s no biggie, the country will be fine possibly better, why worry about killing innocent ppl when there r ppl begging for it nearby?

After they're done with the Est kingdom, Allen and Duke had better overthrow the current king and make a new one. There should be no mercy for the entire royal family and the other reincarnator.

Allen's top priority is rescuing Ana, and he knows that she is in the Est kingdom. He can probably overthrow his own kingdom with ease, but that will not help him find Ana. The Duke and Allen were scheming something, and we still don't know specifics of their plan, but I'm hoping that after they rescue Ana, they overthrow the current king and make the Duke the next king, since a few chapters ago, Allen mentioned that the Duke has legitimacy to be crowned if the conditions are met. Duke was also enraged by the royal family's action, so he would willingly go to war with them. I just hope Allen doesn't hold himself back for the sake of innocent civilians. He should slaughter the royal family along with the aristocrats who are loyal to them, so they can start with a clean slate.

Truth be told, it's only a war crime because someone says it is, now try and enforce it.
We've seen how both sides in the israel/palestine and ukraine russia wars have been committing massive war crimes at scale on each other, and jack is done about it, so yeah, it's only a war crime if someone will actually enforce it, you can claim anything is a crime but it means nothing if you can't prevent it from happening.

Attacking civilian targets intentionally, both have done it though i will give you this much, ukraine's hasn't been as severe as russia's (likely due to lack of ability in comparison).
STOP FUCKING HATE UKRAINE, MOTHERFUCKER, WTF YOU CALL MY HOMELAND A VILLAIN IF UKRAINE IS AN INVADED SIDE?!

Nice tall walls keep the heat in.
Human flesh after cooking resembles pork.
That Saintess probably likes pulled pork sandwiches.
