Oh wow, it's been years since I've seen the anime of this. Looks like different endings too, if my memory serves correctly. Definitely will have to put this great series on my list to read to see all the differences from the adaption.

I remember crying so hard when I got to the end when I first read this in the early 2000s (still have the original print on the shelf), and to this day I still believe it to be ambiguous and up to the reader to decide what was real and what was not.

Anime was nice too, but the different plot was meh.

I cried so hard the first time I read it and I had to do a lot digging work to collect the volumes... which are resting in my parental home. This is a real classic and I will always love it.

Btw why is there an ecchi tag?

One of my all time favourite manga! Despite the plot holes here and there it is still very solid and I love the characters.

I agree that ending was good and emotional. On the other hand whole plot with aliens-demons, Pandemonium etc was horrible. It felt unnecessary even though it was a main motivation for the antagonist.

Does anyone know where I can buy this series digitally? The scans are low quality and the typos get distracting after a while.
