The premise is half-baked and mediocre, but the execution is somehow perfect. The story excellently divides up who’s being the straight-man or funny-man between both Shosuke and Chuck Beans, and the pacing feels just right. Unlike a lot of comedy manga playing it for the long-haul, we feel like Shosuke is having some very real character development.
