Also, seen people hate on Ms. Cigarette in the previous chapters' threads. I don't see why? She seems like a realistic character, and perfectly likable despite her flaws. Cherry-boy just wanted to be cool and get a girlfriend, of course he'd idolize her.

Well, to be honest, she, herself, isn't the problem. The problem really comes from how much everyone puts her on a pedestal and how they act because of it. MC's immaturity and her ex's hypocritical attitude are examples of that (though MC is trying to grow out of it).

@XaneKudo Cherry-boy is immature, like you said. Realistic that he would put her on a pedestal, she's basically the first female we've seen having any interest in him. His immaturity isn't an example of putting her in a pedestal, it's the cause.

The asshole-ex is seriously messed up, abandoned her for selfish reason and then expects her to drop her entire life for him when he comes back. He obviously has an unhealthy view of her, and I don't see how that's her fault? He acts that way because he's messed in the head, not because of her.

Ms. Co-worker thinks Ms. Cigarette is cool, and idolizes her. Not really that surprising from a younger acquaintance/co-worker.

Ms. Cigarette is literally just trying to live her life, and all these weird people are obsessed with her. Don't see why other people hate her for something she has literally no control over. It's like blaming the victim for having a stalker. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nah, you know what wrong ? i not really hate her as a person. But not agreed how she act. the thing is author try throwing too much tease here. She didn't show any sign she against the ex, instead it just look like she agitated do much and would go with the ex. Even when she made up her mind, the next chapter still try to show another tease. In real life, if you did that, you fucked. If you want happiness, fucking fight for it.
And i don't even get what @XaneKudo mean by the boy fault here.The boy treat her like god didn't force her into anything to begin with. Don't you see their company is something they both ok, author also show two time she have feeling for the boy . She is the one should change here. She just too passive.

@Tcof Pretty much every action she's taken in regards to her ex was telling him to fuck off. Sure, her mind was wavering for a bit, but that's normal when you dedicate your life to someone for a while. Regarding the recent confrontation, she had no time to react before Cherry-boy started yelling. And standing back when Mr. Mentally-a-kid and Mr. Asshole starts fighting is the smart thing.

That's part of her personality, being passive. It's literally why this manga is 'Cigarette and Cherry'. She started smoking because the guy she liked did. Wanting her to change for a guy, or because you dislike her being passive, is pretty conceited.

@cor3zone Again, i don't hate her. And it also ok to a character have flaw. Character learn and grow is very common progression of story. That why i said she need to change. I just point it out. Still, author use it little too much

Ms. Cigarette IS just trying to live her life, so I can agree with that. For a lot of people, it's really that they hate the character shilling that's going on (When the plot goes out of its way to convince the audience how awesome a character is.) The question is really "WHY are you all tripping yourselves so much over her?"

@XaneKudo Hmm. Fair point about the shilling. But it's kinda the premise for the entire story. The title being 'Cigarette and Cherry', MC clearly being Cherry, and her being Cigarette. I just don't see the point staying upset and complaining about something harmless that is unlikely to change. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
