Yikes...What he's saying could be true in a way but that delivery was just horrible

I he just said "next time show me what you choose yourself, o want to know more about YOU", the effect would be totally different...
Also - his manner of speech reminds me a bit of sociopathic behavior 😅

Well, the series kept showing that he really does lack common sense so I get why he'd say it so straight like that.

Honestly, I like this guy's character. Straight to the point yet still introspective. He had a feeling and said it out loud but he realized it was his fault.

Yea, he didn't really say anything too ridiculous, but the author has to make it look that way because he was accidentally making the MC look worse than he normally looks by comparison.

He definitely could have phrased that better. Instead of "That's disappointing" it would have been better to say "Hopefully next time you'll show me your personal style." Oh well, I still think they like each other and will end up dating.

I don’t know if I like how the author handled this. Not the scene overall because that makes, but how he made the guy look when he said perfectly normal things and was pretty nice about it. Maybe the author was trying to show it from her point of view and how much shock those simple words had on her, but still. As a reader the way the guy was drawn and emphasis put on him made it seem like he just called her a dumb bitch or something equally insulting. When in actuality he’s just doing what he’s always done (speak his mind), is being fairly polite about it, and instantly apologizes and compliments her senpai -kohai relationship. I just don’t like how that got portrayed as if he was in the wrong (just leaves a poor taste in my mouth). Maybe if the shock was shown more on her face? At the end of the day it the issue here is her own insecurities (which is fine and is setting up for a great character arc).

I'm bad at dates, but that dude really fucked it up. How can he tell her that he is "disappointed" for something so banal as asking advice from a friend? Especially on a first date. What the hell.
