To be fair, her father had a point to his exile, though it was not very clearly expressed. He knows his daughter's value and would have wanted to put her as the successor. However, without magical talent, or an alternitive set of combat skills equal to magic, she could not be a Noble. The current noble requirement is high level magic / combat skills equalling a hero. Because without such, how could the Noble defend their citizens from others.
Exiling MC was just a forceful way of pushing them towards the only methode to achieve the goal they desired. He likely knew if he did not, MC likely would not do it since there is reason to believe it is dangerous. However, if MC stayed, he would be forced to marry off MC since it would be impossible for them to become the successor. Plus internal affairs likely are not as safe for MC as it seems. MC has pissed off a lot of people (including potentially other nobility who they were set to marry, or were part of the embezzlement scheme). So father likely thought MC would be safest at the hero academy.
