ehhhh... he didn't rly say "I love you"... but sure, finally a confession lets gooo

I guess the translator wanted to escalate a bit the situation (so much so that the dialogue that comes after, makes way more sense "I like you" but welp xD....)

And Anime adaptation finally with a bit more info.... I wish we had a teaser oof

Looking into the raws, it does kinda play out like that. “Ore, Umi no koto ga suki da” which can be that or “I’m in love with you, Umi”. Tho my JP is rusty but semantics I guess.

I mean he isnjust saying "suki da" which usually is more of a "I like you" cause imply you are still a bit shy to say something more like "Dai Suki" that Umi said herself.

the next dialogue on the novel as well makes it makes a bit more sense (but on the novel it is "I love you" too lol) but welp it is what it is.

I think its not the best choice, but its not as bad as seeing some official translators translating " Dai Suki" as "I really like you" LOL

I blame the Japanese making the word “Suki” being this broad lol.
