Don't tell me the divorce was because the dad cheated on his mom or something. Narratively speaking, we don't get to know the name "Kyoka Minato" for no reason at all if she's just a background character who won't play any further role in the story. She could easily be his dad's new girl. Or the one he cheated on with if it's really that. Unless this story likes to waste details on unimportant matters, that is.
I hope him lying to his dad doesn't result in stupid repercussions down the line like him using it as some sort of leverage against his mom for something important... like custody. We seem so close to Maki and Umi starting to date officially, please don't take that away.
Hoo boy, what an ominous way to end the chapter even when it looked so wholesome. Definitely calm before the storm. Goodness, I probably need to brace myself for some incoming heavy drama.
