And as expected from manga, the police wasn't called to report those criminals. They were already guilty of assault and were most likely planning rape, but that's apparently just a normal tuesday in the mangaland. Logic dictates after losing Aoi, they will go on looking for the next victim they can "persuade" to accompany them to a vacant place.

Yeah that was a little odd. I get there’s either A: a trope or B: an actual cultural issue with “picking up women” in Japan. But like. That wasn’t that. That’s JUST assault. Like. Ummm. Uhhhh. Wow. And it was just played off as a minor inconvenience??!?

I’m really REALLY hoping the author was just sloppy in writing that part and didn’t think too deeply about the implications of the situation. Because… Yeow.

Yeah Japan has different culture than the USA. Sure. But THAT wildly different, where attempted, uhhh… grape juice… is just “whoops, glad that didn’t happen!”… in the city I’m from, if someone did that, they legit might just get shot right then and there. Just straight-up. That has happened in my city before. And no one blamed the guy for protecting his wife with that level of response.
