I really want to continue liking Akane because her many flaws give her much development potential, but it's so hard for me when she just keeps doubling down with shooting herself in the foot and just refuses to start working on herself and being honest. I will not deny that what she's been doing all this time is extremely stupid ever since Himari started gunning for Saito.

The reality is that both Akane and Saito are extremely troubled by Himari's advances because they've both grown to like each other despite their near-constant bickering words that they supposedly "don't like" one another. If they truly hated the other then there really shouldn't be any problem accepting Himari's love. Can't believe I'm saying this but an affair can be a way to stick it to his domineering grandparents too.

Shisei is the real deal for still trying to help these two idiots (especially Akane who looks like a hopeless idiot now) who can't be honest with themselves, let alone others. It would've been so easy to sit back with popcorn and watch the guaranteed big dramatic fireworks to come, but she doesn't. What's in it for her? I don't think she's gunning for Saito herself since she's also helping Akane here.
