To explain the bunny day thing:

the kana for 'bunny' looks similar to the kanji for number 8 (ba, ha without the "), 2 (ni), 1 (the long sound symbol)

Hence August (8th month), 2nd (and 21st with the long sound variant)

Why would you want someone to drink alot? They have feelings too.

(yes, this is me being pedantic about the fact that "a lot" is two words and "alot" isn't a word at all but is a mythical creature someone made up to make a point about a pedantic grammar wonk. Apologies.)

I should just add a small disclaimer to the above snarky post about the "alot" issue:

Otherwise the translation is quite good. I know that this isn't so much a translation issue as it is just a massive problem with people being taught improper grammar likely because of the internet (right up there with people who write "should of" instead of "should've/should have". Or the baffling ongoing drive by some to make "orientate" into a real word) and I don't really "blame" you guys for the screw-up. I just wanted to point out the error and it struck me that I wanted to be a bit of a smartass about it.

Sorry if it was taken as if I was trying to offend you in the process, that wasn't what I was going for and I apologize for not making it clearer.

Happy now? I changed it. I was just tired and didn't realise it. Also small disclaimer, I know I can use should've so I don't need to take that extra class you teach.

Regarding Bunny Day (and other "days" on JP twitter) here's a quick guide.

08/01 Oppai day
08/02 Pantsu day or bunny day
08/03 Breastmilk day (I dont know the wordplay used here)
08/09 Hug day
08/10 Heart day
08/13 paizuri day
08/14 bare feet day (not sure of wordplay here either)
08/21 bunny day
08/23 bunny-san day

Generally "0" can be read as "o" or just ignored. "8" is "ha/ba/pa". "9" is "ku/gu". "1" is "i" or just used to stretch the previous syllable. "2" is "ni/tsu". "3" is "san/suri/zuri/mi". "10" is "to"

So for example:
8 = pa
1 = i
3 = zuri
Hence paizuri day
8 = ba
2 = ni
3 = san
Hence Bunny-san day
