why does the mc in these types of manga always wearing the lamest outfit when on a date? Is a white shirt over some pants really the only thin he could think of? He could have at least wore a hoodie or a jacket with it.

Less foreshadowing and more hidden backstory I would guess. More than likely she had to make a choice already between transferring schools to continue being an idol or quitting, so she quit because she was already (for whatever reason) already super in love with the ML.

Also, while I do enjoy the cutesy art and hyper expressive faces, I do have to say that it's a little TOO simple compared to the LN art.

Yeah like the manga is super simple most the time then drop a super detailed face that makes me go "oh yh they can actually draw"
