Even setting aside the qualifications, background checks, and the nature of the job, conversational translation work is fucking hard. You basicly have to keep two conversations, in two different languages, going in your head at the same time. Then you have to relay those conversations to their respective sides as accurately as possible. High stress, shit pay, and you are seen as more a tool then a person... Not a job I would ever willingly do.

I assumed the translation could just automatically toggle between them if it were more than one language since, to him, he’s just hearing and speaking Japanese to both sides, but yeah, other than that… Fair enough, tbh.
