And this marks the end of the manga. I'm not going to lie, even though the last two or three chapters were quite stupid, I got some enjoyment from them, so I'm not as annoyed as before reading them.
Too bad that the manga didn't stay the same as the first half, but I guess it is an alright read if you don't expect much from it, otherwise ( like me ) you will be disappointed.
Before the seven year time skip - 8/10;
After the seven year time skip (not including the last two chapters) - 2/10;
After the seven year time skip (including the last two chapters) - 4/10;
Overall - 5.5/10.

The start of the series was really strong, I enjoyed it. But around the midpoint, it began to not make sense more and more. To the point where important backstories weren't established soon enough. A lot of telling and not enough showing in my opinion.
I would have liked it if we saw more from Rubel's perspective. I think that could have been more satisfying to read.
Got some unanswered questions too.
All in all, I enjoyed Claymore, but needed more build-up and actually seeing characters grow (saw some of that, but I need more).

Phew, just reread it after I read it the first time some ~10 years ago. Crazy what nostalgia does to our memories. Or maybe I just developed higher standards. I remembered that manga as a masterpiece, but after the reread over the last few days it‘s a 7/10, at best.

I‘m not really interested in the dragon-war storyline on the other continent, considering how poor the storytelling in the second half of Claymore was, as well as the very disappointing Ariadne of the Blue Skies. Seems the mangaka ran out of talent after Angel Densetsu and the first half of Claymore.

Cute little ending even if seriously underwhelming, the series completely dropped the ball in the second half

This is nice and all. I liked the overall manga. I don't think post time skip was bad, but it had a lot of issues. We got a lot of new side characters, but it feels like the most important ones didn't get more development. We get told about things they did or how they feel. Even, to an almost comedic extent, have characters just somehow GUESS the entire backstory and character arc they went through in their entire lives or over the course of a huge period of time. Isely, Raki and Priscila's relationship as a pseudo found family gets literally no screen time. Despite this supposedly being huge things for all their arcs lol. Riful and Dauf get literally fucking nothing beyond "He's my man" and "She's my woman". Who, mind you, had more screentime than Isley or Luciela(the eastern abyssal), but both manage to have less development as characters. Again, in spite of them both being so important that some weirdo fusion of the two popped back up in the final fight and solo'd Priscila for a while. Zilch. Nada. But the abyssal that gets bodied in like 3-5 chapters and does nothing afterwards other than being her sister's body pillow? The author needed to lock in for that I guess lmao. Nah, instead they get an 8 page volume extra flashback that eludes to more, but just ends.

Not to mention my boy Raki. This lad had the best glow up in the manga and got so little chance to shine. Where the manga scaling reached it makes sense that he couldn't do much, but what a missed opportunity. The romance he had going on with Claire was also really poorly handled, like what are their lives now? Are they dating? In love? Do they get a scene where they acknowledge each others' feelings maybe? Even for shounen with weak romance some of this stuff is just the bare minimum you do for this sorta junk.

Isley also gets mogged by a random new threat that boots him out of the story just as he was about to take center stage as an antagonist. "Strongest male claymore for his time" and he doesn't even get to show off in a huge lengthy duel. Bro became a snack and was debased along with Riful and Dauf. Fucking Casandra the Dust Eater got better treatment from the narrative. My goodness.

Like, the characters that do get this oh-so scarce attention are good. Helda, Tabitha, Jean, Teresa, etc. The art and fights stay really fun and exciting till the end(final fight was pretty mid tho, all the cool shit we've been seeing from Abyssal ones and unique environments just to have a straightforward sword fight with fleshy bits around some random fuck-off field is wild). Claire was great. An amazing shounen protag. A shame she didn't get a nickname for the history books. Art rocked. Monster designs we killer. Next to no flops in the roster once the mangaka starts getting the ball rolling.

As much as I spent a lot of time complaining, it's only that case cuz I held this series to a higher regard thanks to the excellent early bits and enjoyability factor that maintained throughout the entire run. I am mean, because I cared. A solid 7.3 if not a veeeeery generous light 8/10. Had the potential to be SO much better. Def one of the better young boys manga out there, for sure.
