Not sure if this has been suggested or brought up in the past, I cant seem to find a search function. But, we are we not sharing work across groups? Such as, for example, cleaned raws?
If a Russian speaking group is doing Re:Monster and Kuro no Shoukanshi, then an English speaking group is doing Re:Monster and Kuro no Shoukanshi. Instead of having to clean Re:Monster by both groups, Russian speaking group would clean Re:Monster, English speaking group Kuro no Shoukanshi and share result between each other. Cooperation and coexistence, get more manga done faster, release in more languages!

Clearly if groups scanlating for different languages cooperate with each other, they can get more manga done with less burnout. The problem is that there is no functioning service or rules for such cooperation to exist, not yet at least.

@Zing While a service like that might be nice, I'm not sure how this is something MangaDex specifically should or even need to create a separate platform for. Seems to me like the groups should just talk to each other directly and do joint releases, like people have done so far.

A join release would be two groups working on single release, in a sense this can be called a join release. But in reality, its more of a material sharing between groups that release same manga, but in different languages.

Why mangadex? Because somebody has to mediate between different groups located in different countries, speaking different languages. The sharing part is easy, just use google drive account, even one drive can work.

Why even bother with this? In theory, this type of alliance, will allow you to decrease amount of work a single group has to do in order to release one manga and use freed up labour force to release more manga.

Yeah, I know that's the usual way, but sharing material instead of manpower still makes it essentially a joint effort between two groups. I don't see what the effective difference is.

We're not in a position to be some kind of a middleman between two groups, not to mention we have our hands full working on the site itself already and most of the staff members aren't personally particularly familiar with non-English scan groups anyway. I don't see why any two groups couldn't handle issues like this between themselves like grown-ups.

Yeah, I'm not questioning that part, it's a good idea. I just don't understand what these groups would need MangaDex to do that for. We have the Scanlation forum section and plenty of group leaders and channels in our Discord server, if it's about trying to find partnerships.
