Reminds me of pain, whenever you go a long period of time without any pain or discomfort, you forget how good it feels to be healthy, so a quick dose of pain or discomfort in any form can quickly remind you. Of course I don't think I need to say this but ermmm DON'T hurt yourself, ok? A much better and healthier way to remind yourself of how good it feels to be healthy is just to exercise and actually be healthy.
