I thought I was the only one who felt that the series felt off (to say the least...) past volume 2. What the hell happened?

Probably the case of the publisher seeing this series has potential, then telling the author to do more and more. Hence the story was dragged a bit harder than it should be.

This is definitely not the worst when it comes to "dragging" though, it's still miles better than Detective Conan and its 1100+ chapters.

It didn't 'drag the series out', it switched genres midway through which is insane because until that point this was gold. This was a mystery/thriller manga and became a battle shounen.

First 2 volumes are pure gold then it suddenly turns into a lame magical girl battle manga with worse art..

I had this on my list for a while and after loving the start I am once again reminded why I dont read random manga and not to trust this sites scores at all. Shame.

Does anyone know titles which are similar to the first 2 volumes?

This manga was really good for the first 2 volumes. But it felt like the author stopped caring for the story or building characters after that.

Without going into too much spoiler territory the pacing suddenly became too fast for the story to make sense which only make the genre shift feel even more sudden. There was also the fact that new characters were being introduced only to have their conflicts be instantly solved without any development to the character and that there were too many changes to who the antagonist is in the end that it felt like all those arc’s should have been separated into 2 volumes each

Great start, very original and interesting. Turns into an incomprehensible mess at around the halway point, goes off the rails, adds 10 more plotpoints then expo dumps the entire story and resolvement in the rushed last 2 chapters of the manga.

Could have been actually fantastic, but lack of coherent plot evolution, lack of writing experience and rushed ending takes it down to just good sadly.

First 2 volumes are great. Read until chapter 10, and then act like the story is finished would be my adamant recommendation.

Past 10 it derails into a different plot, which might make most lost interest if you liked the feeling of the beginning. Last few chapters... I couldn't even explain what happened after reading it. Shame cause art was good and setup made it look like a masterpiece was brewing.
