Most cultures shame men who beat women way more than woman beating men but the justice system doesn't work like that. Assault is assault no matter the gender, ESPECIALLY if it's assault with a deadly weapon. What was the verdict, self defense on the woman's part? That he fell on the knife?

@MrGoose that’s not always true even though it should be. If you google “Australian woman assaults man with shoe” you will find a story of a woman who assaulted a man with her stiletto putting him in the hospital and all she got was a fine. I won’t say it happens all the time but it does happen.
