Korean manhwa/webtoons always have nasty/unlikeable characters. This one's no exception, I hate them all.
A dad that is somewhat a jerk to his own son, a fiancee (pseudo gold digger) that loves to spend money she doesn't earn, an MC that is dense/naggy/bitchy all the time. What's there to like?

Since rigald00 has only summarized (very poorly) about the characters, let's expand for anyone new coming in:

The dad: He's a single father who still misses his wife and is strict about his son's upbringing, but clumsy about his own life. They have a healthy relationship and he occasionally has to be the voice of reason between the MC and heroine.
The fiance: She's a shut-in with a crippling social phobia (as if it's the scariest thing ever), is very shy, and spends money because she's allowed to. Since then she's learned to slowly overcome her weakness, wanting to be a good fiancee for the MC and repay the dad's kindness and has even gone out to get a job.
The MC: Unlike most MCs, he's still in middle-school, meaning he's about 14. Because he's very rigid in his goals and short-sighted due to his youth, he acts out and is quick to reprimand others while blind to his own shortcomings. At first he wanted to get rid of the fiancee, but now he's trying to reform her to become a person of society. He's still very much against the arranged marriage. He's his own main antagonist, so it'll be fun to see him grow up and calm down.

that dad isn't so bad. in fact he's actually doing favorable things for his son, the fiancee, and creating an environment where the son could really benefit in various aspects. The son on the other hand....at this point I'm just going to stop getting irritated at the guy lol you think he'd go 100% all the way, but only goes alpha halfway. Now the only reason I'll come back to this story is only to see whether the son actually ends up with fiancee vanilla style or chicken with a side of cuckold.

After years of reading IM Dal-Young, I have come to the conclusion that mentally he is a cuck. I don't understand how he can consistently make shitty main characters that border on triggered alpha and yet be a soyboi beta. The only decent one I have seen is Unbalance x Unbalance. And even then he was an asshole. We had awesome Alpha moments where he beat the shit out of a girl that stripped another girl and was trying to humiliate her. But then he went triggered and was mentally raping the girl that loved him and yet, somehow when it came down to it, he was a pussy against women that he cared about. It makes no logical sense.

The MC in this is a kid so he gets SOME slack, but only for now. It's the same formula except he treats her like literal shit. Idk, if there was a top ten most notorious Korean manga author poll he would consistently be in it.

@Akemua This isn't IDY's work. He's drawing for TamRin, the original author. It's a collab thing, but it's TamRin's baby.

Also, try to drop the "Alpha/Beta" typecasting. In my experience, guys with an inferiority complex trying to prove themselves refer to other guys and themselves as Alpha/Beta/whatever. That kind of thinking is poison for the head and can affect you in a LOT of ways. Not trying to be a prick; just tired of seeing guys self-destruct because of this mentality.

@TwilightFaze The problem with that is, his characters are just that tho. They are either complete assholes full of smug arrogance and don't care how they treat others or complete wusses that allow themselves to get cucked. It's not like I use alpha/beta lightly, it's just the easiest way to define his characters. As for the collab, there was another artist doing this series before IDY was, and it wasn't as bad as this was, at least character-wise.

So clearly IDY has some influence on the story since the characters are a staple of his other works. But regardless, it's not like I don't see your point. I just don't care for IDY's characters anymore.

It's really hard to be truly mad at the MC when he's a somewhat competent 15-year-old kid and the heroine is an extremely immature and emotionally stunted woman nearly 10 years his senior. His frontal lobe is not equipped to deal with her, and won't be for the next 4 or 5 years at least. Seriously, his brain is not in any way caught up to his body. She'd be a hard nut to crack for someone her own age let alone a middle schooler. I can't really fault the LITERAL CHILD for not being what the fucked up young woman needs.

That being said, I may well be the only person with this opinion that's still actually reading this, so I should just do as the Romans when in Rome.

Why hasn't this beta cuck MC just fucked the mental illness out of her? Lmao these soybois just aren't chad enough for my bookmarks.
