I know right! English is hard, and translating is harder. The basic structure is different between languages and I honestly don't know. So I see how the Chinese translations worked and then tried to translate base on their essence. But that just creates sentences that are what I feel to be correct. Which is... probably different. No that's a different issue. I just suck at English and conversations between people. Someone more proficient in the language, both English and japanese, would definitely help a lot. I'll try to read though the dialogue and change what feels clunky in the future, and probably disturb some friends if I'm seriously stuck. Is this being machine translated? I know MTL is getting good day after day but it still seems off to me to read, and notice a few things here and there look a bit... clunky imo.
I just assumed they stopped considering they didn't post for 3 months, which I felt was justified considering the mountain on raws. No one on their side contacted me though. It's a shame, help would help. I joined their discord but I just lurk cause I didn't want to bother them, since they seemed busy. Also, you said about the previous translator getting a cease and desist order lol. I know Kirascan works for a while now and I can assume that the same thing you said at the end of this chapter about free time and the previous one about redrawing. It demands a lot of (free) time and life happens, so I doubt it was a cease and desist, I bet it was more like "this takes a lot of work" plus "I have other stuff to do and I'm too tired for that in my free time". Well, I'm on this topic because I wanted to know if you ask them about it. I know scanlation is a "free" thing, but it's also not an "I will pick any series I want and do it" stuff. Snipe is not cool, and maybe they could even help you.
Ohhh I see. You translate from Chinese (which is a translation already) to English. I got it now. Sorry telling you it looked MTLed haha, but I can totally see now.I know right! I see. I have a friend that says you have to wait 6 months before considering a scanlation dead, but there is no formal rule for that. I just don't like people sniping since it makes tracking hard on some series (imagine kirascan going back out of nowhere and now who I should read? huh).I just assumed they stopped considering they didn't post for 3 months, which I felt was justified considering the mountain on raws.
Well, I would try to make the move to talk to them first about the series. Not seeking help, but more like "Hey, since the series is at a long halt I'm doing it right now." But that's me, so don't fret about that if you don't want haha.No one on their side contacted me though. It's a shame, help would help. I joined their discord but I just lurk cause I didn't want to bother them, since they seemed busy.
That's a really amusing typo.A beard eating race would be disgusting.
Based on the manga I follow, three to four months of inactivity seems to be when most series get "sniped."I see.
