After several days of thinking, I’ve decided to convert
Comick into a legal
tracking site. Here’s why:
- The most important thing is that many users encouraged me.
- I truly want to keep building Comick — there are still a lot of features I want to ship. I’m only removing the reader. I considered this before but avoided it to not compete with other tracking sites, but now this is the only way to keep Comick alive for me.
- I don’t want you to lose Comick.
- Our community is big now — I believe we can make this work.
- also, we can protect Comick’s brand from fake sites - they'll end up destroying Comick's image.
What will change when Comick becomes a tracking site:
- You won’t be able to read on Comick, but your Following list will still show new updates.
- I’ll start working on forums.
- I’ll ask a friend to help us build apps for the App Store and Google Play.
- We won’t need to stress as much about funding because publishers can’t report us, so I’ll have more time to build features.
