A manga can have any number of official publishers according to however many publishers have licensed it, Fixed on mangaupdates

If manga was straightforward and affordable, I'd buy it. I am not going to do math to figure out how many chapters I can read at 3-5 keys per chapter, and keys priced differently depending on how many you buy.

I'm on a limited income, like I can budget for stuff, but I can't be guessing. They are intentionally trying to obfuscate the price so you accidentally pay more than you realized.

I can just buy I video game on steam for $5 and know I'm getting a cute 6hr indie game for about the price of a cup of coffee.

I know exactly what I'm paying and if the game is ass, I can return it before 2 hrs of play time.

A lot of manga is somewhere between mid and mildly interesting. sigh
