(or maybe we don't realize it b/c of the art style but maybe kanade doesn't look as feminine "irl"/face to face and ppl were too polite to call him out on it, tho i wouldn't be surprised if, trans/gnc ppl aside there were some parts of a city where ppl just openly crossdress or dress 'wild'/to stick out/for attention and stuff but i guess not rly that kinda story)
