I find it funny that japanese people also think asians all look the same
I mean, they're toguether at least 8(it's japan so more likelly 12) hours a day, talk to each other constantly and somehow don't recognise one another even when in direct conversation?
People I never even spoke to in school, 10 years later, when drive i past them on my way to work, I recognise them.

This trope is ridiculous
Blame Superman for that trope I guess. Didn't he the start of this "not really a disguise but nobody can tell" trope?

Yeah, you're right, every piece of modern media is somewhat infected with the cancerous trash that was pumped out of the US and forced down the throat of the peoples of the world in our post war era.
But honestly, even these one page twitter manga should be held to a higher standart than united statese media, no? Especially a higher standart than its most braindead, finkle-thinked, low-effort war-propaganda.

I have an on and off look exactly like Hanku and my own family doesn’t recognise me. When I show them pics of concert I went in my off appearance, they think it’s one of my friends.
It’s not that unreasonable. The trick is doing exact opposite. No one would even consider that it’s you. Also have make up skills ofc.
It’s less abt what they see and more abt what they wanna see, blahblahblah

did you eat your brains? there are in real life people that can look wait different with make up and cloths that you won’t recognize them, PLUS this is supposed to need to use your brain to suspend disbeliefe that they both unrecognizebal to one another, like what more do you wanna the ficking autho to do? draw them in hyperrealistic way and make it 100% wear face mask to change the shape of their face?? that is such a werdo expectation FROM MANGA!

You're addressing the wrong person lmao. I addressed the original comment that it's not an Asian but the Western people that started the trend. I don't have any problem with the trope at all. Don't need to be ballistic when we can discuss things calmly, can we?

One funny thing about the Japanese is the culture of "refusing" things. How someone causes damage to your property, wants to reimburse you, and you refuse?! Here where i live, people usually don't even apologize, and if you want to be compensated, you have to chase and threaten the offender for weeks! lol~:notlikethis:
TBF i'd prolly feel awkward accepting money from a stranger (esp if we needed to give each other personal details or so), if it was a friend i'd lightly tease them or ask my parents to get something if i ripped (Tho they'd prolly be mad at me for not being more 'careful'), other than literally going to a tailor and getting it fixed on that day or so (tho a rip on a shoulder of a frilly lolita dress isn't as bad as if the dress had been damaged in a huger way [tho there are also those manga where ppl blackmail others and do that 'badger game' thing so i can imagine ppl just avoiding it just in case])
