"Completed" Tag with New Chapter.

Summary: I do think this was already a thing. Once you tag a manga as Completed, even with new chapters you won't be able to receive any notification nor be aware of it. Unless you return to your Completed history checking if someone uploaded a new Chapters.

Every completed chapter will be tag with read next to the chapter "eye symbol" even if you haven't read it yet.

Resolution: It would be better, if there's a new chapter (omake, etc) for this completed manga. It would be better to return them to Reading Tag/Following Page.

Even tho the mods generic response has been "If you havnt finished it, dont mark it as completed"

What about extra or omake? Ofcourse you still want to read this. But after finishing the manga which status is on completed.

Even after some group would upload those extra means, I won't be able to see this? Is this what you meant by your last sentences.

As I said, completed is not an indication that you have read all the chapters, it is an indication that you are done with the series, that you don't want to be updated about it anymore.

If you have finished the series, you don't want updates on these chapters, and you want to mark them as read because you've already read them.

There just so much flaw about your explanation, though I do appreciate the effort.

If you finish a series of course you will tag this as Completed. (Because that's the simpliest and common thing to do) However, saying I'm done with a series and I don't want to be bother with the new updates, just doesn't make sense.

It might apply to the example, you've given but I was asking for extras and omake. How can I know if there will be new updates if from the start I basically have no idea that there will be an update.
To clarify this, you simple can't tell a manga is completed (knowing you have no idea if they publish an extra). "If mangadex itself would change the status to Completed in details with End in chapters" ofc I shall tag this as Completed for organization. And boom there's an update which I was never been notified because the Completed tag was actually meant for "don't bother me anymore cuz I'm done with you"

@AbyssalMonkey well this issue was already a thing and it's obvious it was been brushed off for years.

Though I understand your explanation, but what's the point of upgrading and enhancing when there's no new implementation.

Still, I'm quite aware that this is a free website. So yeah, gotta accept this. Though this thread was meant for "Suggestion" area where we can make some suggestion, am I right?

Without a doubt. But some suggestions were suggested and declined so many times already...

There's no real point in continuing to argue about this. This is going to have a fix, and all non-critical updates and feature additions are on pause until v5, so you're not going to be able to do anything to get this to happen faster.

It is the way it is now as a countermeasure for database bloat, and the staff's defense of this was... lacking, yeah, but it's not going to be a problem in the coming update.
