I think too much of his oxygen has been going elsewhere rather than his brain. He can't think properly. I thought he's at least have his detective minion look into it for him. That would have been simple, she would just straight up ask them about what they think of the disappearances and she'll know who the source of those rumors is.

Also, I like how everyone seems to have forgotten about Masaki, would have thought since she's now his slave he'd let her go. He should have also released her out of confinement. As she'd still be very subservient and affectionate to MC, which in turn would be a way to continue psychologically messing with Misuzu out of confinement. This guy is dumb as a brick.
I'm just amazed at how this school continues operating like normal when now there's been two disappearance, one has returned but the circumstances are unclear, and now 18 girls have just disappeared. -_-
