From my experience that only happens when you accidentally open the reaction in a new tab (IE middle clicking the reaction button), so maybe stop doing that?

I was on a phone so that's not possible, though it seems like it fixed itself. Probably had something to do with my shit internet connection right now

The only other thing I can think of is since your internet was slow you accidentally held the reaction button for a long time and then it opened it in a new page. Glad it fixed itself though.

Happened to me several times before, it's just caused by very bad internet connection. I don't think they can do something.

I've never seen this on MD but I have seen it happen on other XF-based forums when either my internet or the website was shitting itself, so I assume it's some kind of fallback for the fancy popup not working.
