About Tanabata:
According to the legend of Tanabata (based on a Chinese folktale), Orihime, wove beautiful clothes by the heavenly river
(the Milky Way), but she only worked and was sad that she would never find love.
Her father (the God of heavens), arranged a
meeting with Hikoboshi (a cow herder) from the other side of the Milky Way.
The two fell in love, so much so that they slacked on their work duties, which angered Orihime's father, and he forbade them from seeing each other.
Orihime pleaded with her father, and he allowed them to meet, once a year, on the 7th day of the 7th month if she did her work again.
Orihime also represents the star Vega, and Hikoboshi the star Altair.
