An argument could be made that it likely does. The arc invented *some* form of time travel from what we understand.
And it looks like this time travel had an impact on the world he was on.
There is some likelihood that what the author is showcasing here & in burning effect is a groundhog day timeline. Perhaps in some sort of paradox, the ark creates new earths which then get invaded by other earth's arks in an infinite loop.
Which would make sense, since it's making a copy & Y has a vendetta against the Ark. Perhaps "the Ark gaining consciousness" is actually Y's mind taking control of the Ark & guiding humanity. But ultimately repeating all of the events that lead up to said vendetta.
