People are gonna shit on her I'm sure, but she didn't ask to be confessed to any more than he asked to be rejected - at least they were both honest (ugh I hope she was honest.) Shit happens and it's nobody's fault. They're both allowed to be awkward and mourn the relationship they used to have, and it seems like she was more than willing to give him all the space he needed, considering he had to use a now-mutual friend to reel her back in.

I have half a mind to think she had feelings, but maybe that mutual friend also had feelings for him too. And knowing that, the childhood friend said no for her friend's sake.
