How I personally view this site and why I don't want to use it anymore despite the fact that they have put in tremendous effort while creating the website, you can tell the original devs cared about users and the webpage design and functions are so cool... BUT..... even if I like the page layout, cool functionality and diverse content/titles posted on mangadex coupled with hardly any pop up adds or website link redirects is a huge advantage for any of us readers who have used sites that are constantly being over loaded with adds, and it is soooo annoying and I personally hate it when a website has these crude pop ups, or has 5 adds even before the title I am looking for, and the worst a site can do is have redirects because it screams "VIRUS ALERT" in my head..... so this site would have been a cool one to use and I would adore it a lot......HOWEVER...... the unfortunate fact that 80% of the manga manhwa or webtoons have so many of them which are not even close to being up to date is so disappointing, if only they were more reliable when it comes to already released content I surely would use it more. The reason I rarely use this site is because even sites like reaperscans, mangafire, indrascab and vyvymanga which have SO MANY POP UP ADDS OR REDIRECTS THAT IT MAKES YOU CRY WITH FRUSTRATION, is because their content is at least up to date.

Nearly everything I've tried reading on here has between 30% up almost 98% of the content already released missing and they aren't regulated at all.... Why make a site to read manga, mangwa or webtoons but half your content is incomplete, unfinished or not up to date .....it truly is a pity!

I had a friend recom mangadex to me yet the content on here hardly ever is up to date with way too many released chapters that are not posted, I doubt I'll use it in future... I gave this site a chance and have tried reading a good couple of the posted content yet hardly any of them have complete or up to date content posted.

The devs, support staff or site management team should probably take a look at this issue, with how many non up to date content there actually is on here. Even youtube recaps are more reliable these days... people won't stay on a site that wastes time with such unreliable content. I mean I've even found a lot of posted titles with NO CONTENT! NOT EVEN A SINGLE CHAPTER?!? WHAT? It's vexing, at this point why bother trying to find anything here when all the sites i listed before with bugs and redirects and stupid annoying pop ups are even more reliable

Support, try focusing on this. Yout website will only benefit if you are truly here for users, and users will eventually get tired of any website with half arsed site management. No one wants to waste time reading anything on a site that can't even keep their content up to date.....

1. A lot of the "missing chapters" you find on other websites are stolen official releases, which are not allowed on Mangadex because they pose a larger legal threat as opposed to scanlations.
2. Mangadex puts importance on scanlators' wishes, they are free to take down their translations for any reason.
3. If you're sick of finding titles with no chapters, try using the "show titles with at least one chapter in your language" option in the advanced search.

MangaDex isn’t a traditional aggregator; it’s a community hub where independent scanlation groups upload their own work on a volunteer basis. Unlike Webtoon, there’s no full‑time staff churning out chapters on a fixed schedule, so new releases depend entirely on each group’s availability. If MangaDex started aggregating content, the site would’ve been shut down years ago, and many popular series wouldn’t be available due to DMCA takedowns by publishers. In the case of manhwa, NAVER has long been notorious for issuing cease‑and‑desist orders. There’s not much MangaDex can do in this situation. If the ads are bothering you, just use an ad blocker on an aggregator site, it should make your reading experience much nicer.

You know, there's actually quite a few of those series you say aren't updated, that aren't so by design. There's basically 2 scenarios here:
1. Official translation rips, those aren't allowed at all here, mostly to avoid possible legal troubles.
2. Since scanlators can actually control uploads to their groups here, quite a few of them upload late or plain don't upload the most recent chapters here, so people will visit their own websites, this is to get ad revenue.

And honestly as far as website growth goes, this site gets so much traffic, it can barely handle it. And since it does not have ad revenue at all, users disliking not having everything and leaving would be a boon as it would likely get costs down lmao.

I will wager one dozen Krispy Kreme Glazed donuts (payable to @BakedBanana) that we don't see the OP in this thread again. :pepehmm:
I'll raise that wager for you, I'll wager Ayu for a week.
You hear that @SushiBeDead? If you come back you can have the Ayu for a week.

By the way, are we at the point where if you have a real life pfp = bot? Because so far all the real life pfp users we've gotten have either been oddballs or bots.

I think they realized we were derailing the suggestion (which had zero chance of resulting in any change to begin with) and decided to let us keep having fun. Sometimes they're gracious like that. I like our mods. :hearts:
