I think "it" has taken her over but is keeping things relatively low key.

Like she wants to protect him but when "she" threatened him with a knife she told him he had to hold the camera next time. Even though it's clearly killing the cameramen.

Makes me think that "it" can take control of her body whenever, it just doesn't in front of other people so no one notices something's wrong. And that it's warping her judgement so she thinks she's doing all this for good reasons.
