Surprise attack... remember, our boy has literally no experience... he's a child who basically only fought by over powering his enemies...
It's like having a really strong gun but little training or experience using it....
So the experienced people hit you before you can shoot it or even arm it....
His experience, reaction and reflexes suck....
Which makes sense because he is way too new at everything... it's been 22 chapters, but not a lot of time... and the only enemies he faced overall weren't that intelligent...

Except after Claude walks away MC literally does NOTHING, this is just imcompetant writing and one of the most passive MC's I've ever seen. I swear he could watch his wife get murdered infront of him and he'd only think to do something later and then forgive the murderer.
We know for a FACT that Claude is about to cause the destruction of the kingdom with his acts and they are playing Claudes game for some unknown reason and now when Claude shows his hand, what did MC do? just let Claude walk away, didn't even remove his skills or anything.
