...I feel like I knew the look in those eyes the moment I first saw them. Those empty, uncaring eyes that make you feel like you're in front of the abyss when you peer into them.
So many manga artists use them, yet isn't it funny how readers never seem to understand them, even when they've seen those eyes on specific characters before?
Jirey is afraid. Terribly so. Do you know how many people you have to see die for your mental state to deteriorate so much? Or how worthless you have to feel about yourself? How much you start to hate yourself?
It's almost funny, really. People want others to pursue someone that they know is a good fit for them, without even questioning why those who haven't, don't.
Or hell, how about this? You spent all that time trying to become a so-called hero, only to completely give up once you found out that the job was much more trouble than you thought, and only wanted it to be a cushy job for yourself.
You'd be afraid too, no? Afraid of how they'd look at you if they were to find out you did all that, just to be lazy.
