Those ostrich beastkin probably won't even understand human exploitation. Shady men plotting to enslave them will be baffled when they realize all they had to do was offer them Breakfast for labor.

If anything, whoever tries to harm them will likely really regret it. They're likely one of the strongest humanoid races in terms of physical ability considering the monsters they're able to beat with proper coordination. If a little one gets kidnapped they might accidentally destroy the place while casually waiting for their chief to pick them up.
