I'm with @Siikalahna on this. It was totally his fault. There was no reason not to have her with him in the line. It happened solely to allow the next plot point.

What a loser mc. Can't go a day without failing to properly protect his daughter, and that's with a lot of power and money. He should die from being too much of a failure. It's not impressive to get all angry and domineering after fucking up like some brainless moron. It's pathetic.

Nobody would just let their 5 year old baby wait alone while you get ice cream... normally you would have your child by your side carry her have her choose her ice why let her sit somewhere... this plot is way too thin...
