I really loved this chapter and I think it's a better stopping point compared to the previous one.

Side note: All onomatopoeia SFX are handdrawn and replicate the original's style, which is what I hoped the official translation would do… or at the very least do for major scenes.

Now, I wonder if he's saying he doesn't expect to live long because he's being afflicted by the same meteor/mineral ilness as Ehta or because he expects to die while in action and Ehta's case is a particular one.

It's more of a "d) hair insult" kind of deal.

The original line is "バーカバーカ / ガキ顔 / 部分的パーマ" (lit. idiooot, idiooot, brat's face, partial perm).
The translation for the first two is self-explanatory, but finding a proper translation for the last one felt impossible. It's supposed to sound childish, so having Ehta just simply say "partial perm" doesn't feel like it fits his character.

And 'poodle snoodle' is just the best I could come up with, even if it's not perfect.
