Spoiler: Novel

1. In the novel I was relieved when the night elf jailor said they would never consider raping Liliana but I forgot that they had already given her to the goblins(who presumably did rape her).

2. The part about light magic(and the humans' holy magic which Alex had as a hero) burning members of the dark clan on contact is important to the story; again something the novel explains in more detail.

3. Killing Liliana would be merciful but given that she features prominently in both novel and manga cover art let's just say it's likely that Alex finds another way.

Interesting that the art style is so cutesy for such a dark series. A realistic art style similar to manga like Berserk, Vinland Saga, What do you wish for with those Murky Eyes etc would have been more suitable IMO.

He reveals his identity to Liliana and with her assent seals her memories and gives her a fake personality of his dog. He then tells the night elves that she is his pet now and takes charge of her.

He tries to undo this after returning home but Liliana's brain keeps her memories sealed due to psychological trauma, so for a long time she walks on her stumps as Jilbagias' dog for comic relief.

Eventually when Alex has a massive battle against the 3rd prince(the one who destroyed his village in his first life) Liliana regains her memories and regenerates her limbs. Afterwards Alex helps her escape back to the elves' forest.

Eventually they are reunited afrer Alex/Jilbagias is exiled to human lands for one year as punishment for killing his brother, the 3rd prince.

You know this is really a good idea.
The problem is she has been tortured for more than 7 years, even if she lives , with her mind so broken and all the trauma , killing her might be the most merciful way out

Authors of this genre always avoid dealing with the consequences of trauma. I bet there's going to be some kind of plot device that will enable that, since they know the audience that wants gore doesn't want to be reminded of its consequences.

Getting her personality sealed and later on not seeing each other for a year is a convenient way for the author to direct trauma processing off screen and never really address it with any sort of depth.

My guess without knowing what happens in the Novel he "kills" her metaphorical as in she died and somehow gets her out. This whole killing her at the end seems way to much as clifhenger bait, wich I always doubt .

Overall it's a good adaptation, but I'm not a huge fan of the cartoony tone and accelerated pace, especially in those important part.
It's kind of inevitable when adapting novels but the results is the same, while it's not bad it really doesn't compare to the source material.
