I finally got around to finishing reading the available chapters here on MDex and if the spoilers about the volumes 6 and 7 onwards are correct, then...
I loved the premise, and was having a really good time with their back and forth. But it looks like their dynamic will be just thrown in the trash for the sake of making things complicated and I hated to find that out. Separation arc is cool, they don't have to be glued, but do it in that much of a harsh way is just too much. Feels like the dynamic is thrown in the trash..
Things might be interesting in Volume 8 and the story seems to be ongoing as of 2026, but from what I got of the spoilers, for a Yuri fan (even if it just stays in subtext), this story seems straight-up unreadable from Volume 6 and beyond. Which sucks.
If anyone in this forum ends up finding this message and happens to have a recommendation with a similar premise that doesn't pull any of this bs... I'll even take het mcs or BL, it's just the friendship betrayal of it all and making one of the mcs focus 100% on a romantic partner and stop giving a shit about their platonic soulmate that pissed me off more in the spoilers...
even if the author aims for it to be a GL story or not, I personally HATE this direction. So far all the flashback scenes could just be bait, like "haha but we're still in good terms and life got in the way because we're busy, I'm just reminiscing but we're meeting up like tomorrow", but noooo drama and forced h*t ensues and that really sucks because it comes from the most down bad of the two (let's be honest now, if Satsuki's whole character so far in those volumes doesn't scream she fell in love at first sight and would be ultra possessive of Hina, who seems the most likely of the two to fall into the comphet trap... then what was the point of all the previous 4-5 volumes?)
