His power's amazing and sad at the same time.

I thought that "Ah because he's helping others (plants) grow, he himself can't" but that at the end- I somehow wasn't expecting that.

"Come out of your room," his parents say, then outta nowhere, they're dead. Then his siblings and their descendants. I would like to know and see how the planet/s would age, but I'm not sure I'd like to be alone and keep seeing new friends die.

Yeah, being long-lived has its repercussions. This has the same vibes as the one with the elf, but in a modern setting.

Living long is definitely lonely, all people that you know will die and eventually will just become part of your memories.

It's always nice to see a 1st chapter that could be it's own short story
